A TOAST – LYRICS BY CHARLES KAREL BOULEY AND DAVE ROONEY

Oscar was a man so wilde,
Went to jail for being gay,
And the judgement wasn’t mild,
Writing all along the way
His characters jumped of the page
And today he’s all the rage,
He wasn’t shy, he’d sometimes boast,
‘tis why we have this toast.`
so raise a glass and toast ,
a star from coast to coast,
you’re shining bright it is your night,
so raise a glass and toast
so raise a glass and cheers
to the man from westland row,
who’d like a drink, give a subtle wink
to all the boys and girls he’d know
you’d act, you’d sing, you’d play,
get millions through the day
you’re art inspires, the stars conspire,
and now you get a toast
and the words you wrote resound
through everyone of us today,
through your charm and wit
a pre-requisite in everything you’d say
so raise a glass and toast ,
a star from coast to coast,
you’re shining bright it is your night,
so raise a glass and toast
so raise a glass and cheers
to the man from westland row,
who’d like a drink, give a subtle wink
to all the boys and girls he’d know
though you left us long ago,
your words they still live on,
and we’ll celebrate your life ,
through our music and our song,
and your passing from this world,
have the people here beguiled,
there’ll never be another one like thee
Oscar O’flaherty wills wilde
so raise a glass and toast ,
a star from coast to coast,
you’re shining bright it is your night,
so raise a glass and toast
so raise a glass and cheers
to the man from westland row,
who’d like a drink, give a subtle wink
to all the boys and girls he’d know
